BJP secures continuity in Tripura and Nagaland; Congress-CPM parties split; Tipra Motha advanced in 12 seats

Agartala: BJP secures continuity in Tripura and Nagaland in North East war. BJP, which has won four seats in Meghalaya, is likely to be a part of the government along with the NPP.

BJP has won well in Nagaland. 32 BJP candidates won. BJP is leading in 6. BJP won Nagaland by winning eight more seats than last time. NPP won four and NPF three seats. But the Congress could not win a single seat.

BJP candidates have won 31 seats in Tripura. BJP is ahead in four places. The CPM-Congress alliance was limited to 13 seats. CPM faced a heavy setback. The Congress improved its position from zero to four while the CPM slipped from 16 seats last time. A new party, Tipra Motha, advanced in 12 seats.

The Tipra Motha - founded by royal family head Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barma - had won eight seats and was leading in four, making it a potentially more decisive ally as the BJP bids for a third consecutive term.

The Left+Congress was leading in 14 overall, meaning the BJP has a relatively clear path to victory even without the extra support of the Tipra Motha.

Trinamool Congress made a grand entry by winning six seats in Meghalaya. NPP won 28 seats and BJP four seats. BJP along with NPP will be part of the government in Meghalaya. Congress is leading in four seats in Meghalaya.
