All Luas services across Dublin have been affected by a "safety threat to Luas trams". The suspended services have reopened in the evening.

In a post on social media website X, Luas operators advised passengers to expect delays. Luas tickets remain valid on Dublin Bus. We will update passengers in due course. We apologize for the inconvenience. Luas informed.

While services were suspended, gardaí said they were working with tram operators this evening in relation to "a phone call made about suspicious activity on a Luas tram". The company that runs the Luas said services had been suspended following an incident.

"Gardai are currently working with Luas operators in relation to a phone call made regarding suspicious activity on Luas trams this evening." Gardai informed. Gardaí searched trams at several locations, including at the St Stephen's Green Luas stop. There tram services were brought to a complete halt and gardaí put up crime scene tape.

Gardaí checked the trams after being made aware of the security threat by an earlier phone call.
