Strong winds will blow across the country today, the entire country is under status yellow wind warning today due to strong north-westerly winds. The Met Eireann forecast shows strong winds from the west to north-west and possible gale force winds in northern areas and near coasts.

Met Eireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for Donegal and Leitrim from midnight until 7am tomorrow. Also a status yellow wind warning is in place today for all counties in Leinster (Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow), Monaghan, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford, in effect from midnight came It is valid till 8 pm today.


Potential impacts of high winds include debris and loose objects that may become dislodged, making driving and cycling conditions difficult.
