Dublin: "Get 'em off our streets" anti-immigrant protest in Dublin city center again, 19 arrested.
Hundreds gathered on O'Connell Street for an anti-immigration march. Demonstrators arrived with Irish flags, many of them raising growing concerns about immigration and housing shortages. There have been recent protests in both sectors against plans to accommodate applicants for international protection.
As the anti-immigration march made its way to Leinster House, a smaller counter-protest was taking place in Grafton Street, organized by the United Against Racism group. Both sides shouted and shouted abuse at each other but were stopped by a line of gardaà from the Public Order Unit.

Gardai intervened again in Dawson Street to keep the two sides apart before the anti-immigration group reached their destination in Molesworth Street, where protesters demonstrated before leaving the area. Some of the demonstrators returned to O'Connell Bridge, where gardaà blocked traffic in both directions.
Gardai arrested 19 people yesterday after dealing with public order issues at anti-immigration and pro-immigration protests in Dublin city centre. Gardai and the Public Order Unit will continue to be on active patrol in Dublin city center for the remainder of the day, the Garda said.
