Kochi: The Kerala state BJP will support the struggle led by the "Munambam Land Samrakshana Samiti" for the members of around 600 families who have been living for three generations on the 400 acres of Munambam land, (Kochi, Kerala State) illegally claimed by the Waqf Board.
Waqf property is an Islamic endowment of property to be held in trust and used for a charitable or religious purpose. The Waqf property has now been claimed by terrorist groups. They also demanded that the state government prepare to investigate the terrorist links of those who applied for the right to this land in the name of Munambam Waqf Protection Committee.
BJP leaders welcomed the stand of KCBC and Bishops' Council supporting the Waqf Amendment Bill presented in Parliament. The BJP also asked the LDF-UDF fronts and elected representatives to clarify their stand if they are ready to support the amendment bill after the Christian churches openly supported it.
