Gratitude to Shri. Praful K Patel ji Honourable Administrator of Lakshadweep by the "KILTAN DEVELOPMENT FORUM".

The youth of Kiltan Island has created a WhatsApp group of the youth in a name of "KILTAN DEVELOPMENT FORUM" of alleged negligence to deepen and widen of entrance of channel of Kiltan for facilitate the birthing of high speed vessels, cargo vessels, fishing boats at jetty in Kiltan island and other developmental sphere of Kiltan Island last five decades. 

The youth has prepared a mass representation and submitted to the Honourable Administrator Shri Praful Patel Ji on 13th of September, 2024. Accordingly, the Director of Port, Shipping and Aviation has issued a letter to the Block Development Officer, Kiltan on 7th October, 2024 with direction to convene a meeting of the representative of the Development Forum through Video Conference. 

The Block Development Officer, Kiltan have been arranged the Video Conference on 8th October, 2024. We, the representative of the KDF has attended the meeting and conversation made with the Director of Port. We are very happy to say the Director of Port has assured as that he will act his maximum to deepen and widen of the entrance of Kiltan channel and also be arranged to birth the vessels alongside of the Kiltan Jetty. He is also ensured that he also will make arrangement to commence the program of HSC from Kiltan to Mangalore from November, 2024 onwards. The Director, Port has also assured us that the project submitted by the Kiltan Development Forum will be considered accordingly.

As assured by the Director, the high speed vessels were entered in the lagoon and birthed at western side jetty of Kiltan Island on 5th, 19th and 21st of October 2024, the people of Kiltan Island welcomed and received the officials of the high speed vessels with high gratification. Therefore, we, the representative of the Kiltan Development Forum on behalf of the people of Kiltan Island extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Director, Port Shipping and Aviation and its officials especially to the Honourable Administrator for his proactive and supportive stance. His leadership has brought tangible benefits to our community, and we appreciate his commitment to our well-being in Lakshadweep.
