Mysterious Death of Rabbi C. Kogan in UAE: Investigation Underway

Reports indicate that the body of Jewish Rabbi C. Kogan, who went missing in the UAE, has been discovered near Al Ain. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced that UAE police found the body, though confirmation awaits further scientific tests.

Rabbi Kogan, who drove to Al Ain from his supermarket in Dubai, was reported missing after losing contact with his family last Thursday. His car reportedly showed signs of a struggle, and his phone was switched off.

Israeli media allege that three men from Uzbekistan followed him after he left the supermarket. These individuals are believed to have fled to Turkey after the murder. Israeli authorities have contacted Turkish officials and dispatched a police team to the UAE to aid the investigation.

Rabbi Kogan was a prominent figure in the UAE’s Jewish community, working to combat misconceptions about Jews and promoting Jewish traditions within local hospitality. Since the UAE recognized Israel in 2020, he played a pivotal role in fostering interfaith relations.

He also participated in the Holocaust memorial event in the UAE in 2021 and served as an assistant to the UAE’s Chief Jewish Rabbi, Levi Duckman.

The discovery of his body and the alleged circumstances surrounding his death have sparked an international investigation, with Israeli and UAE authorities collaborating closely to uncover the truth.
