Teacher sentenced to 30 years in prison for repeatedly having sex with teenager; giving him alcohol and drugs so no one would know

Washington, DC: Teacher sentenced to 30 years in prison for having sex with teenage student.

The court sentenced Melissa Curtis, a 32-year-old woman from Maryland, USA. The sentence also states that Melissa will be considered a sex offender for 25 years after serving her sentence.

The student came forward with the rape accusation in October 2023. From January to May 2015, she took the teenager to Melissa's vehicle, home and other places and abused him. Melissa sexually abused the student by providing him with alcohol and drugs.

The teenager had joined an after-school program supervised by Melissa. The teenager then became acquainted with Melissa. After receiving a complaint against the young woman, the police registered a case and started an investigation. Following the case, the school authorities expelled them. During the sentence, they are not allowed to even meet minors without supervision, except for their children.
