The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Monday successfully conducted field evaluation trials of the indigenous Nag Mark-2 Anti-Tank Missile at the Pokhran Field Range in Rajasthan. This marks a significant milestone, as the entire weapon system is now ready for induction into the Indian Army.
The Nag Mark-2, a third-generation Anti-Tank Fire-and-Forget Guided Missile, underwent rigorous testing in the presence of senior officers from the Indian Army. The missile's advanced features and precision capabilities further bolster India's defense arsenal.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commended DRDO, the Indian Army, and the associated industry partners for their contributions to the successful trials. He praised the collective efforts that have brought the Nag Mark-2 to this stage of operational readiness.
In a related development, Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi provided updates on operational conditions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). He emphasized that traditional patrolling and grazing activities have resumed in areas such as Depsang and Demchok. He clarified that buffer zones created along the LAC serve as a temporary measure to prevent potential face-offs that could escalate into violence.
Lt. Gen. Dwivedi also reaffirmed the Army’s preparedness, describing India’s military deployment along the LAC as "balanced and robust." He stated that the Army is "well poised" to address any emerging challenges, ensuring national security remains uncompromised.
