PM Modi Takes Swipe at Opposition, Emphasizes Vision for ‘Viksit Bharat’ Ahead of Budget Session

New Delhi: Ahead of the Budget Session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took a veiled dig at the Opposition, highlighting that, for the first time since 2014, there has been no external attempt to stir unrest in India prior to the session’s commencement.

"You must have noticed that since 2014, this is the first Parliament session where no ‘videshi chingari’ (foreign interference) has been seen, no external forces attempting to create disruptions," PM Modi remarked. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, he suggested that certain groups within the country have previously amplified such disruptions.

The Prime Minister’s comments come as his government prepares to present its first full-fledged budget of its third term. PM Modi expressed hope that the upcoming financial blueprint would bolster India's economic aspirations and uplift the poor and middle class.

"I pray that Goddess Lakshmi continues to bless the poor and middle class of our country. It is a moment of great pride that India, having completed 75 years as a democratic nation, has firmly established itself on the global stage," he said.

‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047: A Vision for India's Future

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to economic growth and structural reforms, the Prime Minister said he was confident that the budget would inject fresh momentum toward the goal of a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India) by 2047, marking 100 years of India's independence.

"This is the first full budget of my third term, and I can confidently say that by 2047, India will achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation. This budget will provide new energy and optimism for the country," PM Modi asserted.

Outlining his administration’s priorities, he emphasized a mission-driven approach to national development, underpinned by innovation, inclusion, and investment.

"In this third term, we are working in a mission mode for the country’s all-round progress. Innovation, inclusion, and investment form the pillars of our economic activity," he noted.

Focus on Women's Empowerment and Legislative Reforms

PM Modi highlighted that the Budget Session would address several historic bills and amendments, particularly focusing on women’s empowerment and gender equality.

"Important decisions will be taken to ensure that women are empowered, receive equal rights, and that any sectarian or faith-based discrimination is eliminated," he stated.

He further underscored that the government’s agenda remains rooted in "Reform, Perform, and Transform," ensuring that policy changes lead to tangible improvements in governance and social equity.
