BSF and Police Conduct Daring Rescue Near India-Pakistan Border

Three employees of a private company were successfully rescued after being stranded for nearly 16 hours on a tidal channel of Harami Nala, near the India-Pakistan border in Gujarat's Kutch district, officials confirmed on Sunday.

The employees had ventured into the eastern part of the Harami Nala Creek area on Friday to conduct a land survey for Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Limited (GHCL) using a dredging machine. However, they became stranded and were unable to return, according to Vikas Sunda, Superintendent of Police, Kutch West.

A joint rescue operation involving the Border Security Force (BSF) was promptly initiated after GHCL officials alerted the police on Saturday morning.

"Based on their last known contact coordinates, the local police and BSF launched a search and rescue mission," Sunda stated during a press briefing.

Despite the challenging and inhospitable terrain, BSF teams deployed drone surveillance to pinpoint the exact location of the stranded individuals and assess their condition.

"The three men were found standing on the dredging machine, which had nearly submerged in water. Once their safety was confirmed, we coordinated with the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force (IAF), keeping an IAF helicopter on standby. Meanwhile, a BSF rescue team navigated the waters using a boat and successfully evacuated them," Sunda explained.

The operation concluded successfully, ensuring the safe return of all three employees after enduring harsh conditions for 16 hours.
