In a shocking incident, a 57-year-old woman in Andhra Pradesh allegedly killed her son, dismembered his body into five parts, and disposed of the remains in a canal. The accused, identified as K. Lakshmi Devi, reportedly took this extreme step due to her son’s repeated indecent behavior toward his aunts and other relatives.
According to police reports cited by PTI, the victim, Shyam Prasad (35), had allegedly attempted to sexually assault his maternal aunts on multiple occasions, including incidents in Hyderabad and Narasaraopeta. Authorities stated that Lakshmi Devi, along with her relatives, attacked Prasad with an axe or a similar sharp weapon on February 13, leading to his death. They then dismembered his body, packed the remains into three sacks, and disposed of them in the Nakalagandi canal in Cumbum village.
Prakasam Superintendent of Police, A.R. Damodar, confirmed the details, stating that the victim was unmarried and had exhibited inappropriate behavior toward family members in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Khammam. “Unable to tolerate his repeated misconduct, Lakshmi Devi resorted to this drastic action,” he said.
The accused individuals are currently absconding. Law enforcement has registered a case under BNS Sections 103(1) and 238, and a search operation is underway to apprehend them.
