Key Contests and Winners: Delhi Election 2025 Results Breakdown

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on course to secure victory in Delhi for the first time in 27 years, as the counting of votes continues. Early trends indicate a significant decline in the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) tally, while the Congress has struggled to regain voter confidence in the capital.

Key Constituencies and Candidates

New Delhi

AAP chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal suffered a major defeat at the hands of BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma. Congress fielded former MP Sandeep Dikshit in this high-profile contest. Kejriwal had previously held the seat since 2013, when he defeated then-CM Sheila Dikshit.

Kalkaji

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi secured re-election from Kalkaji, defeating BJP’s Ramesh Singh Bidhuri and Congress’ Alka Lamba. Initially trailing in early trends, Atishi later surged ahead to clinch victory. She previously won the seat in 2020 with a margin of 11,393 votes.

Sultanpur Majra

Delhi Cabinet Minister Mukesh Kumar Ahlawat retained the Sultanpur Majra seat with a margin of 17,126 votes. He faced BJP’s Karan Singh Karma and Congress’ Jai Kishan. In 2020, Ahlawat had a commanding victory with a 66.51% vote share.

Ballimaran

AAP leader Imran Hussain emerged victorious against BJP’s Kamal Bagri and former Congress heavyweight Haroon Yusuf. Hussain has held the seat since 2015, while Yusuf previously won in 2008 and 2013.

Greater Kailash

Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj retained his seat in Greater Kailash, defeating BJP’s Shikha Roy and Congress’ Garvit Singhvi. Bharadwaj has consistently won the seat since 2013.

Rohini

BJP’s Vijender Gupta, who previously held the Rohini seat despite AAP’s dominance in Delhi, secured re-election. He faced AAP’s Pardeep Mittal and Congress’ Sumesh Gupta in a closely watched battle.

Patparganj

AAP’s Avadh Ojha contested from Patparganj against BJP’s Ravinder Singh Negi and former Delhi Congress chief Anil Chowdhury. The seat was previously held by former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who switched to Jangpura for this election.

Jangpura

BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah defeated former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in Jangpura. Congress fielded Farhad Suri in this seat, which had been held by AAP since 2013.

Chandni Chowk

AAP’s Punardeep Singh Sawney faced a tough challenge from BJP’s Satish Jain and Congress’ Mudit Agarwal. The seat was previously won by Congress leader Parlad Singh Sawhney in 2013 before AAP claimed it in 2015 and 2020.

Okhla

Sitting AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan retained the Okhla seat, defeating BJP’s Manish Chaudhary and Congress’ Ariba Khan. Khan has held the seat since 2015.

Bijwasan

Former AAP minister Kailash Gahlot, who defected to the BJP before the elections, contested from Bijwasan instead of his former Najafgarh seat. He faced Congress’ Devinder Kumar Sehrawat and AAP’s Surender Bhardwaj.

Badli

Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav contested from Badli against BJP’s Ahir Deepak Chaudhary and AAP’s Ajesh Yadav in a closely watched battle.

Karol Bagh

BJP’s national general secretary and Dalit leader Dushyant Gautam faced AAP’s Vishesh Ravi in Karol Bagh. Ravi has held the seat since 2013.

Babarpur

Delhi Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai secured another victory from Babarpur, defeating BJP’s Anil Kumar Vashisht and Congress’ Mohd Ishraq Khan. Rai has held the seat since 2015.

As counting progresses, the BJP appears set to end AAP’s decade-long rule in Delhi. While the Congress continues to struggle, the election results highlight a shift in voter sentiment, potentially reshaping the political landscape of the capital.
