Major Garda Operation Targets Organised Crime Group in West Dublin

 A large-scale search and arrest operation targeting an organised crime group is currently underway in West Dublin, with over 100 Garda officers involved. The coordinated raids, which began early this morning, are taking place across multiple residences in the Dublin 15 area as part of a broader effort to dismantle criminal networks operating in the region.

The operation is being led by detectives and uniformed personnel from Blanchardstown Garda Station, with support from several specialised units, including the Emergency Response Unit (ERU), Armed Support Unit (ASU), Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT), Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI), Garda Dog Unit, Garda National Technical Bureau, and local search teams and scenes of crime units.

As part of the operation, multiple homes have been entered under warrant, with Gardaí conducting searches related to alleged offences under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997. So far, five suspects have been arrested—four men in their 20s and one in his 40s. They are currently being detained at Garda stations in West Dublin under Section 72 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006, as part of the ongoing investigation.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed the details, stating that today’s operation is aimed at disrupting an organised crime group active in the area. They also confirmed that searches remain ongoing, and further developments are expected.
