Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended an invitation to French companies, urging them to seize the vast opportunities in India’s dynamic and rapidly growing economy. Speaking at the 14th India-France CEO Forum in Paris alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, Modi emphasized that this is the "right time" for French businesses to invest in India, highlighting the nation’s stable political environment and predictable policy framework.
Strengthening the India-France Strategic Partnership
Addressing a distinguished gathering of business leaders, Modi underscored the increasing bilateral trade and economic collaboration between India and France, which has strengthened the strategic partnership between the two nations. He pointed to India’s burgeoning aviation sector as a prime example, referencing large-scale aircraft orders by Indian companies and the government’s ambitious plan to develop 120 new airports, which he described as a glimpse into the future potential of the Indian market.
Encouraging French industry leaders to participate in India's growth journey, Modi remarked:
"When France's skill and India's collaboration come together, when India's speed and France's precision align, and when France's technology meets India's ingenuity—not only will the business landscape transform, but we will witness global transformation."
India as a Global Investment Hub
Modi highlighted that India is emerging as a major hub for diversification and risk mitigation, strengthened by the structural reforms introduced in the latest Union Budget. He noted that the Indo-French relationship is built on more than just democratic values—it is founded on deep trust, innovation, and a shared commitment to global progress.
"Our partnership extends beyond our two nations. We are working together to tackle global challenges. During my last visit, we outlined the '2047 Roadmap' for our partnership, and since then, we have deepened cooperation across multiple sectors," he stated.
Expanding Collaboration Across Key Sectors
Modi identified key industries where India and France are already working closely, including:
- Aerospace & Defense
- Port & Maritime Infrastructure
- Electronics & Consumer Goods
- Chemicals & Dairy
He also reaffirmed India’s commitment to fostering a pro-business environment, emphasizing that over the past decade, structural reforms, stable governance, and forward-thinking policies have propelled India to become the world’s fifth-largest economy and the fastest-growing major economy.
"India will soon be the third-largest economy in the world, powered by our skilled workforce, technological innovation, and robust investment climate," Modi stated.
India-France CEO Forum: Driving Innovation and Growth
In a social media post on Platform X, Modi emphasized the significance of the India-France CEO Forum in advancing economic ties, fostering innovation, and creating new investment opportunities.
"It is inspiring to see business leaders from both nations collaborating to unlock new possibilities in key sectors. This partnership fosters growth, investment, and a brighter future for coming generations," he wrote.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) highlighted that the forum convened top CEOs from both countries to explore collaboration in defense, aerospace, critical and emerging technologies, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, life sciences, wellness, and food & hospitality.
The event also featured addresses by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, alongside French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot and French Minister for Economy, Finance, and Digital Sovereignty Eric Lombard, underscoring the shared commitment to deepening economic cooperation.
As India and France continue to strengthen their economic and strategic ties, Modi’s message was clear—the time to invest in India is now.
