Rahul Gandhi’s Visit to Maha Kumbh Sparks Political Debate

Prayagraj,– Speculation has been rife regarding the participation of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi in the Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj. Amid growing curiosity, Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) President Ajay Rai has confirmed that Rahul Gandhi will indeed visit the revered gathering.

Ajay Rai, speaking to news agency IANS, stated, “Congress leaders have historically participated in the Kumbh. Priyanka Gandhi and several senior leaders before her have also visited the sacred event. This time, we will collectively take a holy dip and chant ‘Har Har Mahadev.’ Rahul Gandhi will certainly be at Maha Kumbh.”

Pulwama Attack Investigation Raised

During his statement, Rai also addressed the anniversary of the Pulwama terror attack, emphasizing that the investigation remains inconclusive. “To date, there has been no clarity on the findings of the Pulwama terror attack. This is an insult to the martyrs. We stand firmly with their families and pledge our support in seeking justice,” he remarked.

Political Rhetoric Intensifies

The announcement of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Maha Kumbh has triggered a political storm, with the BJP accusing Congress of electoral opportunism. While Congress maintains that its leaders have traditionally attended the Kumbh, the BJP has dismissed the visit as a mere political stunt.

BJP MLA Criticizes Rahul Gandhi’s Participation

BJP MLA Ram Kadam has openly criticized Gandhi’s planned visit, questioning the sincerity of his faith. “Every person who holds faith has the right to take a dip at Kumbh. However, Rahul Gandhi’s past remarks have been anti-Sanatan. If he truly believes, he should go with devotion, not for political mileage,” he asserted.

Kadam further accused Gandhi of exploiting religious sentiments for votes. “He should not attend Maha Kumbh merely for the sake of optics or electoral gains. Given his previous statements on saints and sages, his intentions seem more theatrical than spiritual,” he added.

As the Maha Kumbh approaches, the debate surrounding Rahul Gandhi’s visit continues to escalate, underscoring the intersection of faith and politics in India’s political landscape.
