Patna, March 24 (PTI) – The Congress has intensified its call for a change in governance in Bihar, citing concerns over the state’s financial condition and the alleged deterioration in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s health. Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Congress media and publicity cell chairman Pawan Khera raised the slogan "Sarkar Badlo, Bihar Badlo" (Change the government, change Bihar).
Concerns Over Governance and CM’s Health
Khera further alleged that Kumar’s health condition is a “matter of concern as he has no clue about what is happening in the state.” He also warned that the Chief Minister’s signature "might be misused by those who have vested interests."
Turning to Bihar’s financial status, the Congress leader claimed that development and governance had “come to a standstill” under the NDA regime, pushing the state into “turmoil.”
"People are now looking towards Congress with hope. Bihar is the birthplace of 'Satyagraha' and revolutions. But today, the people of Bihar have been forced to migrate. There is no dearth of talent among the youth here, but their talent is not being used," he asserted.
CAG Report and Healthcare Crisis
Khera also cited a CAG report, claiming that malnutrition among children in Bihar is “increasing.”
"There are no medicines in government hospitals in the state, and more than half of the hospitals in Bihar are short of staff and doctors," he alleged.
Reiterating the need for change, he declared, "Bihar needs to be changed, and for that, the current government needs to be removed. We are giving a new slogan today—'Sarkar Badlo, Bihar Badlo'. We will present a detailed X-ray of the Bihar government before the people. It will tell how the government failed."
Congress’ Vision for Bihar
The Congress leader claimed that the party has a “clear vision” for Bihar’s development, promising a comprehensive plan to address the state’s challenges.
"There is a plan for the development of every section. We will present the solution to every problem," Khera said.
When asked about the Congress’ seat-sharing arrangements with the RJD for the upcoming assembly elections, he remained non-committal. "A decision would be taken and communicated to all at an appropriate time. Wait for the right moment," he said.
As Bihar gears up for elections, the Congress’ sharpened attack signals an intensifying political battle ahead, with governance and economic concerns taking center stage.
