Investigation and Suicide Note Recovery
Upon receiving a distress call from neighbors, the police rushed to the scene, where they discovered the lifeless bodies of the 44-year-old man and his 35-year-old wife in separate rooms, while their two minor children were found dead on the bed.
“Preliminary investigations suggest that the couple first strangled their children before taking their own lives,” said N. Rajender, Inspector at Osmania University Police Station. A suicide note, allegedly penned by the man, was recovered from the scene, revealing his deep despair over financial instability and deteriorating health.
The bodies have been transferred to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination, and the police have registered a case of suspicious deaths.
Family’s Background and Struggles
The family originally hailed from Mukuralla village in Kalwakurthy block, Mahabubnagar district, and had relocated to Habsiguda a year ago. The man, who had previously worked as a lecturer in a private college, had been unemployed for the past six months, exacerbating the family's financial woes.
“The prolonged joblessness led to severe financial distress, which may have driven them to take this extreme step,” said Inspector Rajender.
