Gardaà have arrested a man in connection with a series of incidents involving a carjacking and two armed robberies that took place across Dublin and Wicklow on Saturday evening, April 26, 2025.
The sequence of events began around 7:45 p.m. outside a commercial premises in Walkinstown, where a woman in her 30s was threatened by a man who subsequently stole her vehicle. Approximately 30 minutes later, Gardaà responded to reports of a robbery at a business premises in Bray, Co Wicklow. In that incident, a man, armed with an implement, threatened staff and stole a quantity of alcohol.
A second robbery was reported roughly half an hour later at a commercial premises in Rathnew, Co Wicklow, where again a man, wielding an implement, threatened employees before fleeing with a sum of cash.
Investigators believe that the same vehicle stolen during the Walkinstown carjacking—a black Nissan Qashqai with registration 141-MH—was used in both subsequent robberies.
A man in his 40s was arrested this morning, Sunday, April 27, 2025, in connection with the investigation. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Dublin area.
In a statement, a spokesperson for An Garda SÃochána confirmed, "Gardaà are appealing for witnesses following three incidents in the Dublin and Wicklow areas yesterday, Saturday, 26th April 2025. Investigations are ongoing."
Gardaà have urged any individuals who were travelling along St. Peter’s Road in Walkinstown, Dublin 12, between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday evening to come forward. They are particularly interested in tracing the movements of the stolen black Nissan Qashqai between Walkinstown, Bray, and Rathnew from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Road users and pedestrians who may have relevant camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, are asked to make this material available to investigating officers.
