Kanpur: A tense situation unfolded in Kanpur’s Babupurwa locality on Thursday night when a man allegedly assaulted his wife’s neighbour after reportedly finding him in a compromising position with his spouse.
According to police sources, the husband, who had informed his wife that he would be away for work until Friday, returned home unexpectedly late Thursday evening. Upon arrival, he allegedly discovered his neighbour with his wife in an intimate setting. In a fit of rage, he reportedly attacked the man, causing severe injury to his private parts during the confrontation.
The injured individual subsequently sought help at the local police station and was admitted to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital for medical treatment. Inspector Arun Dwivedi of Babupurwa Police Station confirmed the incident and the hospitalisation. “At present, no formal complaint has been lodged by either party. Further action will be initiated once an official complaint is registered,” he stated.
The altercation drew attention from local residents, who briefly gathered at the scene before being dispersed by police. The couple has been married for a few years and resides in rented accommodation in the area.
Authorities are currently monitoring the situation and are prepared to take legal action pending further developments.
