PM Modi Visits Adampur Airbase, Sends Strong Message After Pakistan’s Failed Missile Strike

Adampur,  Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant statement by visiting the Adampur Airbase in Punjab on Tuesday, days after Pakistan’s failed missile attack on the strategic facility on the night of May 9. The Pakistani missile was intercepted mid-air by India’s advanced air defence system, but the provocative escalation prompted India to retaliate with missile strikes on nearly a dozen Pakistani airbases, including those in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi, inflicting substantial damage.

Pakistan had claimed to have damaged the Adampur airbase, India’s second-largest airbase located near Jalandhar and a key asset in previous conflicts with Pakistan. However, Modi’s visit effectively debunked these claims. During his visit, the Prime Minister interacted with Indian Air Force personnel, commending their bravery and resilience. A photograph shared by Modi on X captured him at the airbase with a wall message in the background reading, “Why Enemy Pilots Don’t Sleep Well,” unde
rscoring the symbolic intent of his visit to a facility Pakistan has repeatedly targeted unsuccessfully.

“Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation,” Modi posted on X. A government-released video of the visit showed the Prime Minister engaging with Air Force personnel, patting their shoulders, and joining them in chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.” Indian Air Force assets, including the Russian S-400 defence system and MiG-29 jets, were prominently visible in the background, further amplifying India’s message of military readiness.

In his address to the nation on Monday, Modi had emphasized the necessity of strength in maintaining peace, stating, “It is very necessary for India to be powerful. And it is also necessary to use this power when required. In the past few days, India has done just that.” He also lauded the armed forces for their role in Operation Sindoor, saying, “Our brave soldiers displayed immense courage to achieve the objectives of Operation Sindoor. I pay tribute to their bravery, courage and valour. I dedicate this valour to every mother, every sister and every daughter of the country.” Modi extended his appreciation to the armed forces, intelligence agencies, and scientists for their contributions to India’s defence capabilities.
