Actor and Model Shefali Jariwala Passes Away at 41

 Mumbai, June 28 — Actor and model Shefali Jariwala, widely recognized for her iconic appearance in the early 2000s remix video Kaanta Laga, has passed away in Mumbai at the age of 41. According to preliminary reports, Jariwala suffered a sudden cardiac arrest late Thursday night, between June 27 and 28. She was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, along with three others. Despite their efforts, doctors declared her brought dead on arrival. The exact cause of death remains unconfirmed, and no official statement has yet been issued by the family or her representatives.


Shefali Jariwala rose to national prominence with Kaanta Laga, a song that not only launched her into the limelight but also earned her the enduring nickname “The Kaanta Laga Girl.” She subsequently appeared in Bollywood productions including Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, alongside Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.

In later years, Jariwala found a new audience through reality television, competing in Nach Baliye with her husband and later in Bigg Boss 13. Her stint on Bigg Boss drew widespread media attention, partly due to her past relationship with the late actor Sidharth Shukla. Despite their history, the two maintained a cordial and respectful dynamic on the show. Offscreen, Shefali was admired for her candid persona and dynamic social media presence.

Her sudden passing has left the entertainment industry and her fanbase in a state of shock. Social media platforms have since been flooded with tributes, celebrating her as a vibrant, fearless, and charismatic performer whose impact transcended mediums.

She is survived by her husband, Parag Tyagi.

Singer Mika Singh expressed his sorrow, writing, “I’m deeply shocked, saddened, and feeling a heavy heart… Our beloved star and my dearest friend @shefalijariwala has left us. Still can’t believe it. You will always be remembered for your grace, smile, and spirit. Om Shanti.”

Actor Aly Goni posted a brief but heartfelt message on his Instagram story: “RIP Shefali.” Other public figures, including Rajiv Adatia and Kamya Panjabi, also conveyed their grief and disbelief at the news.

Shefali Jariwala's legacy as an entertainer and public figure continues to resonate with millions, and her untimely demise marks a significant loss for the Indian entertainment fraternity.
