Uttar Pradesh Father Murders Two-Year-Old Son Over Suspicions About Wife’s Fidelity

Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh – A chilling crime has shaken Chitaua village in the Bichhwan police station area after a father allegedly killed his two-year-old son by forcing him to consume pesticide and then throwing him from the roof. Police say the accused, Raj Bahadur, acted on the belief that the child was not his biological son due to suspicions about his wife’s character.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon and was witnessed by villagers. According to the police, Bahadur hurled the toddler, Lalit, with such force that the boy’s neck broke upon impact with the road. He died on the spot.

The Fatal Argument
Authorities report that Bahadur was involved in a heated argument with his wife, Yamunavati, around 2 p.m. The confrontation allegedly stemmed from his demand for money to buy alcohol. When she refused, tensions escalated. Fearing violence, Yamunavati left the house to wash clothes in the veranda, while Bahadur locked the gate from inside.

On the rooftop, where Lalit was playing, Bahadur allegedly forced the child to drink pesticide stored nearby before throwing him over the edge. Family members and villagers rushed the boy to the district hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.

Standoff and Arrest
Following the act, Bahadur returned to the roof armed with a knife, threatening to harm himself if approached. Police and villagers negotiated for hours, eventually luring him down with the promise of tobacco. Once he descended and unlocked the gate, he was overpowered and arrested with villagers’ assistance.

History of Violence and Suspicion
According to his sister, Laxmi, Bahadur married Yamunavati seven years ago, and the couple had two sons, Ankush and Lalit. She described Bahadur as an alcoholic with a volatile temperament, frequently accusing his wife of infidelity and insisting that Lalit was fathered by another man.

This was not his first act of aggression. Bahadur had previously attacked his wife with a sickle and once resisted arrest by throwing bricks from a rooftop.

Ongoing Investigation
Police have launched a detailed investigation, and Yamunavati has expressed her intent to pursue legal action against her husband for the murder of their son. Authorities say the case will be handled with the “utmost seriousness” given its brutality and the accused’s history of violence.
