RTE’s The Traitors Ireland: Viewers Call for “Arrogant” Contestants to Be Voted Out

Tuesday night’s episode of The Traitors Ireland delivered another dramatic showdown at Slane Castle, as tensions flared among the faithful following the banishment of a second traitor.

The spotlight quickly fell on Galway native Katelyn, a leadership consultant, during a tense roundtable discussion. Several contestants voiced strong suspicions about her, ultimately leading to her elimination. Before departing, Katelyn confirmed the group’s suspicions—she was indeed a traitor.

The faithful initially celebrated their success in catching a second traitor in consecutive days. However, the mood in the castle soured when contestants Ben and Nick criticised the decision. Both argued it would have been more strategic to keep Katelyn in play, using her presence to their advantage in future votes.

“I was kind of a little bit peed off because we wanted to keep her in the game and use her,” said Nick. Ben echoed the sentiment, adding: “It was obvious [Katelyn was a traitor]. Why couldn’t we use our heads and keep her in our pocket?”

Their frustration dampened the group’s triumph, with fellow contestant Kelley remarking that the duo’s reaction left the faithful feeling deflated: “We all walked out of that room like we haven’t even caught a traitor.”

The exchange also struck a nerve with viewers at home, many of whom took to social media to vent their frustration. Some branded Ben and Nick’s behaviour as “nasty,” “arrogant,” and “toxic,” calling for their immediate elimination.

One viewer wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Even the nice alpha males are still unreasonable and vile when challenged. Nick and Ben showing arrogant, dogmatic and toxic behaviour ‘cos they didn’t get their way. F** all the way off lads!”*

Another added: “First one to go has to be Ben or Nick, f** them, they are nasty guys who will happily screw faithfuls over.”*

Others warned fellow contestants to remain cautious, suggesting Ben and Nick could not be trusted after expressing willingness to sacrifice faithfuls over eliminating a traitor.

As alliances shift and tensions rise, fans are now eager to see whether Kelley, Christine, and their allies can rally together to outmaneuver Ben and Nick in the coming episodes.
