Udupi police have arrested three individuals in connection with the brutal murder of private bus owner Saifuddin. The arrested suspects are Mohammed Faisal Khan (27), a resident of Udupi Mission Compound; Mohammed Sharif (37) from Karampalli; and Abdul Shukoor (43) from Manglapuram Kudipalla.
According to police, the suspects were presented in court following their arrest. Saifuddin was reportedly attacked on Saturday, September 27, at his residence in Salmar, Kodavoor, within the Malpe Police Station jurisdiction. The assailants allegedly used lethal weapons, striking him on the head and back with a sharp-edged object, resulting in his death within minutes. Police arrived at the scene soon after receiving the report, finding the victim’s body completely drenched in blood.
Saifuddin, who lived in Manipal with his family, was known to be acquainted with Faisal Khan of Kukkikatte and Sharif of Doddanagu. On the morning of the incident, Faisal Khan reportedly visited Saifuddin’s residence, claiming the need to discuss bus business matters and persuading him to travel to Mangaluru. Saifuddin’s son later reported to Malpe Police that Faisal Khan and Sharif, along with others, had longstanding enmity with his father and had lured him to Malpe to carry out the murder.
Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
