Tejashwi Yadav Says Nitish Kumar’s Absence from PM Modi’s Roadshow ‘No Surprise

Patna: Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial nominee Tejashwi Yadav on Monday said he was “not surprised” by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s absence from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Patna, asserting that it only reaffirmed the BJP’s reluctance to project Nitish as the Chief Minister again.

“What’s surprising about this? Everyone knows that the BJP will not make Nitish Kumar the Chief Minister,” Tejashwi told reporters, dismissing speculation surrounding Kumar’s no-show at the event.

Tejashwi also took strong exception to the Prime Minister’s recent remarks made during a rally in Arrah, particularly the reference to “Katta,” a colloquial term for a country-made pistol.

“I have never seen a Prime Minister use such language,” Tejashwi said. “Jiski jaisi soch hai, uski waisi bhavna hai — one’s words reflect one’s mindset. Maybe he pointed guns to make others join the NDA. I don’t wish to comment further, but just listen to the PM’s language. I have never heard any Prime Minister speak like this.”

PM Modi Targets RJD-Congress Alliance

During his campaign rallies in Arrah and Muzaffarpur on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a sharp dig at the opposition Mahagathbandhan, alleging internal rifts among its allies. He claimed that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) had “stolen” the Chief Minister’s post from the Congress, forcing the alliance to announce Tejashwi Yadav as its CM face under pressure.

PM Modi also launched a scathing attack on the RJD-Congress combine, describing their past governance in Bihar with five words — “Katta, Kroorta, Katuta, Kushasan, and Corruption.”

“RJD-Congress can be identified by five things,” the Prime Minister said. “Where there is katta, cruelty reigns and law and order collapses. This is the legacy of their misrule.”

Election Timeline

The Bihar Assembly elections are set to be held in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with results to be declared on November 14.

The high-stakes contest is expected to witness a fierce face-off between the BJP-led NDA and the Mahagathbandhan alliance, with political rhetoric intensifying as both sides trade sharp barbs in the final leg of campaigning.
