Delhi Man Brutally Attacked by Estranged Wife in Telangana; Police Draw Flak for ‘Casual’ Response

Cyberabad (Telangana):A shocking incident from Telangana’s Cyberabad has triggered widespread outrage after activist and journalist Deepika Bhardwaj alleged that a man from Delhi was brutally attacked by his estranged wife, sustaining deep knife wounds that required 38 stitches.

Bhardwaj’s social media post, which included graphic visuals of the victim’s injuries, also accused the Cyberabad Police of inaction and insensitivity. The controversy deepened when the official police account responded to her post with the vague remark, “Where he stay madam” — a comment that was later deleted following public backlash..

The Shocking Assault

According to Bhardwaj’s post on X (formerly Twitter), the victim had gone to meet his son at his wife’s residence in Cyberabad, as permitted under court-ordered visitation rights. During the visit, the woman allegedly attacked him with a knife, inflicting multiple deep injuries.

“His only mistake was to go and meet his son as per the permission granted by the court. His wife attacked him with a knife and cut his hand open,” Bhardwaj wrote, sharing disturbing images of the aftermath.

Despite the severity of the assault, Bhardwaj alleged that the police had only registered the incident as a case of ‘simple hurt’ and had taken no action against the accused.

“Estranged wife almost tried to kill her husband when he went to meet his son as per court orders. But @cyberabadpolice registers this as just ‘simple hurt’ though he got 38 stitches. No action taken at all. Mokila PS matter,” she wrote, tagging Telangana Police, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and the Director General of Police (DGP).

Police Response Sparks Outrage

The Cyberabad Police’s brief and unprofessional response — “Where he stay madam” — sparked further criticism, with many accusing the department of insensitivity and apathy. The comment was later removed from their social media account.

Bhardwaj replied, clarifying, “He’s from Delhi. He went to his wife’s home to meet his son when he was attacked by her. He had visitation rights from the court. It is shocking that no action has been taken against the wife, and instead, the victim is being threatened and his case called false.”

She also stated that she had shared all relevant case details with the police privately.

Public Reaction and Ongoing Probe

The post has since gone viral, reigniting discussions about gender bias and police apathy in domestic violence cases. As of now, there has been no official confirmation of any arrests or updates on the victim’s health condition.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the handling of domestic violence cases by law enforcement agencies and the need for impartial investigation mechanisms to ensure justice for all parties involved.
