The death toll in the blast has risen. 13 people have died so far. Five of them are men, it is reported. Government sources have concluded that the incident in Delhi was a terrorist attack. High-ranking sources indicate that the blast was caused by an IED.
Home Minister Amit Shah visited the hospital. Amit Shah said that the I20 car exploded in front of the Red Fort, and the NIA team is conducting a detailed examination including CCTV footage.
Delhi has been put on high alert. Firefighters have reached the spot and police have cordoned off the area, the Delhi Fire Service said. The fire was brought under control by 7.29 pm, officials said.
One person has been taken into custody in connection with the blast that rocked the national capital. Authorities have not revealed who is in custody. An unconfirmed report says the man is currently being questioned.
Security arrangements have been tightened at various airports in the wake of the blasts that took place in Delhi on the evening of Monday, November 10. Delhi is on now "RED" Alert.
