The video, which surfaced on December 12 and was shared on X by user @sarviind, captures the startling scene unfolding on a congested roadway with buses and other vehicles moving alongside. The clip also shows a passerby filming the incident from a car, visibly shocked by what he is witnessing. As he calls out to the riders, several of the youths respond cheerfully, waving and flashing victory signs at the camera, seemingly unfazed by the danger or the illegality of their actions.
Social media users have since tagged the Delhi Police, demanding strict action. The comment section has been flooded with criticism and sarcasm. While some users called for hefty fines and licence cancellations, others highlighted the grave risks involved, noting that the stunt was not just irresponsible but potentially fatal.
Though the video may appear amusing to some, road safety experts warn that such acts can have catastrophic consequences. A motorcycle is designed to carry a limited load, and even a slight imbalance or sudden braking could result in a serious accident. The presence of heavy vehicles nearby further compounds the risk.
The incident once again underscores the growing challenge of enforcing traffic discipline in urban India and raises questions about deterrence, accountability, and public awareness. Authorities are yet to confirm whether action has been initiated against the riders seen in the video.
