Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday described the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) victory in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation elections as a “watershed moment” in Kerala’s political landscape.
The NDA’s win marks the end of 45 years of uninterrupted rule by the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the state capital’s civic body.
Expressing gratitude to voters, the Prime Minister said the mandate reflected public confidence in the BJP’s capacity to advance Kerala’s development agenda and enhance the quality of life of its citizens. In a post on X, Modi also credited the outcome to the sustained grassroots efforts and dedication of party workers in the state, noting that their long-term organisational work had played a crucial role in securing the historic result.
