A video circulating widely on social media has sparked controversy and prompted a police inquiry in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi district. The footage, which has gone viral across platforms, allegedly shows a confrontation involving a married woman teacher and the principal of the school where she works.
According to available information, the incident took place at an OYO hotel in Lalganj area of Pratapgarh district. The woman teacher and the school principal, both employed at a composite school in the Bhetua area of Amethi, were reportedly found together at the hotel after leaving their workplace during duty hours. Sources say the woman’s husband, who had been suspicious of her movements, followed her and confronted the pair at the hotel. The situation reportedly escalated into a physical altercation, during which the husband allegedly assaulted his wife in public. Bystanders attempted to intervene, but the assault continued for some time.
Several onlookers recorded the incident on their mobile phones, and the videos were subsequently shared widely on social media, triggering public outrage and intense debate. Before the police could arrive at the scene, all three individuals reportedly left the area.
The police have taken note of the viral footage and confirmed that an investigation is underway to ascertain the facts and determine appropriate legal action. Officials have also cautioned against the circulation of unverified or sensitive content on social media.
