Daylight Robbery in Jaipur’s Bajaj Nagar Caught on CCTV; Woman Loses ₹50,000 While Adjusting Jacket

In a dramatic incident reminiscent of a movie scene, a daylight robbery unfolded on the busy streets of Barkat Nagar in Jaipur’s Bajaj Nagar area. A woman out shopping with her daughter was robbed in full public view, with the entire episode captured on CCTV.

The footage shows the woman carrying a handbag in one hand and a folded jacket in the other. As she and her companion cross the crowded road, she attempts to put on the jacket. In doing so, a bundle of cash slips from her grasp and falls onto the road — a moment she fails to notice.

Two men on a passing motorcycle spot the fallen bundle. They stop a short distance ahead, turn back, swiftly pick up the cash, and speed away right in front of the unsuspecting woman. Moments later, she realises the money is missing and desperately tries to chase the bikers. However, the heavy traffic and the bikers’ quick escape make any pursuit impossible.

Victim Had Come for Wedding Shopping

SHO Poonam Chaudhary later confirmed that the woman and her daughter had travelled to Jaipur for wedding-related purchases. Amid the rush of the crowded Barkat Nagar road and her attempt to adjust the jacket she was carrying, the bundle containing ₹50,000 fell unnoticed. The miscreants took advantage of the situation and fled with the cash.

Despite her attempt to follow the biker upon realising the loss, the woman was unable to catch up as the duo disappeared within moments.

FIR Filed; Police Begin Probe

According to a report by Hindustan, the woman lodged an FIR at the Bajaj Nagar police station. Police officials are now analysing the CCTV footage frame by frame to identify the two men involved and initiate further action.
