Indore: A 24-year-old MBA student was found murdered in her classmate's rented house in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
The body, which was found naked, had started to decompose as it was several days old. The police have intensified the search for Piyush Dhanoti, the girl's classmate, in the incident.
Summary of the incident
The body was found in a rented house in Uncle Gali in Dwarikapuri area of Indore. The police arrived and inspected the house after neighbors complained about a foul smell coming from inside. The house was locked from outside. The girl's father identified the body, which was about three days old, by seeing the socks on her feet.
Disappearance and controversial video
The girl, a first-year MBA student at a college on Sanver Road, went missing last Tuesday. The girl, who had gone out with her father for birth certificate-related matters, had informed her family that she was going to attend a birthday party with Piyush Dhanoti in the evening and would return by 11 pm.
But not only did the girl not return that night, but an obscene video was posted from the student's phone to the college WhatsApp group. The video showed the girl's face clearly and the young man's face was hidden. The family approached the police after the college authorities informed them on Wednesday.
Serious allegations against the police
The family alleges that the police made serious lapses in investigating the case. Relatives said that a policeman visited Piyush's house soon after the complaint was filed, but found the house locked and returned home. They also believe that the girl's life could have been saved if the house had been opened and inspected in time.
Reasons leading to the murder
The girl and Piyush were reportedly in love. There are marks of a rope being tied around the girl's neck. The fact that the body was naked also points to attempted rape.
- Allegation : Before being murdered, the girl had called her sister-in-law and shared some concerns.
- Cybercrime : Police conclude that Piyush intentionally circulated the videos to defame the woman.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Krishna Lalchandani said that the accused is currently absconding and a special team is conducting an investigation into him.
