Dublin: Shooting in Dublin, Ireland.
Gardaí are continuing to investigate the scene of a shooting in the Ballymun area of North Dublin on Sunday afternoon. A man has been injured in the shooting. He has been taken to hospital. The victim is understood to have been shot in the back in the Ballymun area this afternoon. However, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Sources say the incident took place at a halting site in St Margaret's Park. At the time, there was a clash between two groups in the area. Gardaí believe other weapons, including slash hooks, were also used in the incident. Gardaí have sealed off the scene.
Gardaí confirmed one person was injured. A spokesman said:
“Gardas are at the scene of a shooting in Ballymun, Dublin 11, on Sunday 15th February 2026. “An adult male has been taken to hospital for treatment of injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening. Enquiries are ongoing.” Sources said the scene had been sealed off and a full Garda investigation was underway.
