An elderly pedestrian has died following a road traffic collision involving a bus in Bray, County Wicklow, Irish police confirmed.
The victim, a man in his 80s, was struck by a bus on Station Road shortly before 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Emergency services transported him by ambulance to St Vincent’s University Hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries. Authorities later confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries on the evening of Friday, March 13.
The man’s body has been transferred to the morgue, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course.
Following the collision, Garda Síochána closed the road temporarily while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carried out a detailed technical examination of the scene. The road has since been reopened.
Appeal for Witnesses
In a statement issued on Saturday morning, Gardaí appealed for witnesses to come forward as investigations continue.
Authorities are particularly seeking information from road users and pedestrians who may have been in the Station Road area between 5:40 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. at the time of the incident. Anyone with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, is asked to make it available to investigators.
