A 26-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the Raipur area of Dehradun, prompting an ongoing police investigation into the cause of her death.
The deceased has been identified as Shivani Arora, a resident of Ambiwala and the mother of a two-year-old child. According to preliminary findings, authorities suspect that excessive drug consumption may have contributed to her death. However, officials have emphasised that the exact cause will only be confirmed following the post-mortem examination.
Body Recovered from Dilapidated Room
Police officials stated that the woman’s body was recovered on Monday from a dilapidated room in the Raipur locality. Upon receiving information, a police team reached the scene, secured the area, and initiated an investigation.
Initial assessments suggest that the death may have occurred at least a day prior to the discovery. The condition of the room and surrounding circumstances have led investigators to suspect drug use. Evidence collected from the site is currently under examination.
History of Substance Abuse
According to police sources, Shivani Arora had been battling drug addiction for an extended period. Family members informed investigators that she had been admitted to rehabilitation centres multiple times in the past.
Most recently, she had undergone treatment at a de-addiction facility in Haridwar and had returned approximately two weeks ago. Her family had reportedly hoped for her gradual recovery.
Her husband, who is also believed to have struggled with substance abuse, is currently undergoing treatment at a rehabilitation centre in Ghaziabad.
Family in Shock
The incident has left the family and local community in deep shock. The couple’s young child has been left without immediate parental care amid the tragic circumstances.
Awaiting Post-Mortem Findings
While initial indications point towards a possible overdose, police have clarified that no definitive conclusion has been reached. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further findings will determine the exact cause of death.
Authorities have stated that the case is being investigated from all angles to rule out any other possible factors behind the incident.
