Washington, D.C. | April 27, 2026 : U.S. President Donald Trump has strongly denied serious allegations made against him in a manifesto authored by a shooting suspect, describing the claims as “false” and the individual as “deeply disturbed.”
President Responds to Allegations
In an interview with 60 Minutes, President Trump dismissed accusations contained in the document, including references to sexual misconduct.
“I am not a rapist. I did not rape anybody. I am not a paedophile. You’re reading claims from a very sick individual,” the President stated, rejecting the assertions outright.
He further characterised the suspect as “radicalised” and “anti-Christian,” adding that the individual appeared to be mentally unstable.
Details Emerging from the Manifesto
The manifesto, reportedly circulated to family members prior to the attack, outlines a premeditated plan targeting U.S. government officials. Investigators are currently analysing the document to determine motive and assess whether warning signs were overlooked.
The suspect, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, is said to have described his intended targets broadly as “administration officials.” While the President was not explicitly named, authorities are examining whether he was an intended target.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that preliminary findings suggest the suspect may have planned to assassinate the President along with other senior officials.
The document also includes detailed observations about security arrangements at the dinner venue, with the assailant claiming he was able to enter with multiple weapons without detection. According to the manifesto, security personnel were primarily focused on managing protesters and monitoring arrivals.
Ongoing Investigation
Law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, are continuing their investigation into the incident, with particular focus on the suspect’s motivations, background, and any potential lapses in security protocols.
Officials are also reviewing how the suspect was able to gain access to a high-security event, raising broader concerns about event safety and intelligence assessment.
Context: Previous Controversies Addressed
The allegations in the manifesto have also drawn attention to past associations between President Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, who died in custody in 2019 after being convicted of sex offences.
President Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein and has stated that he had “nothing to do with” the disgraced financier.
Earlier this year, the United States Department of Justice released additional documents related to Epstein, which included unverified allegations involving several individuals, including the President. These claims remain unproven.
