Just days after being named in Brazil's squad for the 2026 World Cup, superstar Neymar has been injured

Rio de Janeiro: Just days after being named in Brazil's squad for the 2026 World Cup, superstar Neymar has been injured again. The player's right leg muscle injury while playing for the Santos club has raised concerns about his participation in the upcoming World Cup.

The Santos medical department has confirmed that Neymar has a muscle tear in his right leg. The new setback comes as a setback for the 34-year-old, who has returned to the national team after recovering from a serious knee injury suffered in 2023.

Neymar missed the Copa Sudamericana match against San Lorenzo due to injury and is also reportedly set to miss the upcoming league match against Gremio. The player is working to regain full fitness before joining the Brazil national team on May 27. The medical team at Santos Club and the Brazilian Football Federation are currently closely monitoring his health.

Meanwhile, Santos medical team head Rodrigo Sogeib expressed optimism that the injury is not serious and that the player will be fully fit by next week.
