Houthi Drone Strike on Eastern Yemen Military Camp Leaves Two Dead and 15 Injured

ADEN, YEMEN — At least two people were killed and 15 others sustained injuries following a targeted drone strike on a military installation in eastern Yemen.

According to government-aligned media reports, the aerial assault struck a military camp belonging to the 3rd Division of the government-affiliated Nation's Shield Forces, located within the Al-Abr desert region of the eastern Hadramout province. Emergency medical personnel and response teams rushed to the site to treat the wounded, with several casualties reported to be in critical condition.

The strike marks a sharp escalation in hostilities within Yemen's strategic, oil-rich eastern territories, where security forces remain on high alert. Neither the internationally recognized Yemeni government nor military spokespersons have yet released an official casualty breakdown, and the Houthi movement has not immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

Regional analysts warn that the incident underscores the fragile security landscape in eastern provinces, threatening ongoing fragile containment efforts and highlighting the continued vulnerability of military positions to unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) incursions.
