LONDON / ISLAMABAD — A British national has been shot dead by Pakistani security forces and a second British citizen has been detained without charge for over two months during a violent crackdown on civil unrest in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, investigative reports revealed today [JAAC, 2026]

Bystander Shot Outside Family Home
The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Mohammad Akhtar, a British national from Peterborough. Akhtar was killed on June 9 in the city of Kotli after being struck in the chest by gunfire.
