The attack damaged a metro station on the city’s left bank, a 25-storey residential building, other structures and a medical facility. Explosions were heard in the city, according to a Reuters witness.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the United States had resumed sharing critical intelligence to help Ukraine defend against Russian missile attacks.
The latest strike comes as Washington pursues diplomatic efforts to end the war, which began with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The attack highlights the continuing threat to civilians and essential infrastructure.
