NEW DELHI — The Indian Air Force marked its 94th Air Force Day on Thursday with a ceremonial parade and display of key combat assets at Hindan Air Base in Ghaziabad. This year’s theme, “Indian Air Force — Infallible, Impervious and Precise”, highlights the force’s focus on operational readiness, resilience and precision.
The Air Chief also highlighted the IAF’s efforts to strengthen combat readiness and adopt new technologies. Exercise Vayushakti, bilateral exercises, Dronathon and the multinational air exercise Tarang Shakti have been among the major initiatives aimed at testing operational preparedness and bringing new technologies into the force’s plans.
The celebrations also featured a display of frontline aircraft, helicopters, weapons and air-defence systems, including Rafale, Su-30 MKI and Jaguar fighter aircraft, along with LCH Prachand and ALH Dhruv helicopters.
President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh extended greetings to air warriors, veterans and their families. Prime Minister Modi highlighted the IAF’s growing use of advanced technologies, data and drones to respond to emerging security challenges.
The Air Force Day celebrations come shortly before a leadership transition in the IAF. The government has appointed Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit as the 29th Chief of the Air Staff. He will take charge in the rank of Air Chief Marshal from the afternoon of October 31, succeeding Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, who is due to retire on the same day.
