DUBLIN: Ireland is facing another spell of unsettled weather, with yellow-level rain and wind warnings in place across parts of the country on Monday following the impact of Storm Boelo. Authorities have warned of difficult travel conditions and possible localised flooding.
A rain warning applies to Cork, Kerry, Galway and Mayo from 4 pm to 10 pm. A separate wind warning covers 11 counties — Carlow, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Mayo, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow — from 5 pm until midnight.
The weather may bring difficult driving conditions, fallen branches and localised flooding. Coastal communities should also remain alert to strong onshore winds, large waves and possible coastal flooding.
Temperatures on Monday are expected to reach 14–17°C. Tuesday will be cooler and blustery, with sunshine and showers and highs of 9–12°C. Wednesday is forecast to begin cloudy, with some lingering rain before brighter spells develop.
Storm Boelo also caused widespread power outages over the weekend. Around 5,000 homes, farms and businesses were still without electricity on Sunday evening, according to reports.
