RIYADH — Yemen’s Houthi movement has claimed that it targeted airports, military facilities and oil infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, raising further concerns over regional security and possible disruption to aviation and energy supplies.
The group said its targets included King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, an airport in Najran and an air base in Khamis Mushait. It also claimed to have targeted an Aramco facility in Yanbu, the Rabigh oil refinery, crude oil pumping stations and the East-West Pipeline.
The claims have not been independently verified. The Saudi-led coalition reported responding to debris falling near oil-related sites but did not directly confirm that all the locations named by the Houthis had been hit. Saudi authorities have not provided comprehensive confirmation of the reported damage.
Separately, Yemen’s internationally recognised government said Houthi ballistic missiles struck coast guard facilities in the southern port city of Aden. The Houthis offered a different account of their targets there.
The latest claims come amid escalating hostilities in the region. Any sustained disruption affecting Saudi airports or oil infrastructure could have wider implications for air travel and energy markets, although the extent of any impact remains unclear.
