Voting began on February 10. The seven-phase UP elections ended on March 7. The Manipur elections were held in two phases on February 28 and March 5. Elections were held in Punjab on February 20 and in Uttarakhand and Goa on February 14.
The BJP also advanced in Uttarakhand, where exit polls predicted strong competition. For them to reap the same benefits in Manipur. The situation is no different in Goa. The BJP is all set to run for a third term. But the steel fort, Punjab, was lost to the Congress. The Aam Aadmi Party won 92 seats. The Congress was reduced to 18 seats.
The BJP is leading in 270 of the 403 constituencies in UP. The Samajwadi Party has raised the seat level to 110. Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party won 92 out of 117 constituencies in Punjab. In Uttarakhand, the BJP has won 47 seats. Former Congress chief minister Harish Rawat has lost. When the first results came out, the BJP easily won in Goa and Manipur, where there were in-fighting.
