Due to the delay of the Pandemic Recognition payment in the voluntary and private nursing homes, Nursing Home Ireland are launching a campaign "1000 letters for € 1000". The objective of this campaign is to issue 1000 letters from 1000 healthcare workers across the private and voluntary Nursing home sector to the Department of Health outlining the extreme frustrations and anger being experienced as a result of the delay in receiving this payment
To whom it may concern,I am a (Nurse/HCA/PIC etc), working with (NAME OF NURSING HOME), in (location). Throughout the darkest days of the Covid Pandemic I worked tirelessly to support and protect the residents of our Nursing Home, at personal risk to both myself, and my family. I did this without hesitation or complaint.Upon the announcement of the Pandemic Recognition Payment in January of this year, I felt that the efforts that I and my colleagues had made was being recognised. However, since this date, I have been dismayed by the constant and ongoing delays in the processing of this payment to the Private and Voluntary Nursing Home Sector.I have awaited this payment with the utmost patience, but having realised that our counterparts in Public Nursing Homes have received this payment, I am deeply insulted that I, and all my colleagues across my sector, are still awaiting any news of when this payment will be received. It is appalling that we are being treated so differently to our counterparts in the Public Sector.I am now pleading with Department of Health officials to release details of how this process will be rolled out across the Private and Voluntary Nursing Home Sector.Your sincerely,NAME
