Patna: Two people were killed and several others injured when a group of people opened fire on others in a village on the outskirts of Patna on Sunday. After the shooting, several buildings were set on fire by angry mobs in the area. At least 50 rounds were fired in the incident, killing two and injuring four.

The incident took place in Jetuli village of Patna district on Sunday following a minor parking dispute. According to reports, a dispute over the removal of a car from the parking lot led to the conflict. After that, one of the group pulled out guns and started firing at the others, injuring at least 6 people.

Gautam Kumar (30) and Roshan Rai (15) were killed in the firing while four others were injured. Narrating the incident, Gautam Kumar's uncle Sanjit Kumar said that Gautam was taking his car out of the private parking lot of a building. At this time, the accused were dropping gravel on the road from the vehicle. A request was made to move the vehicle and unload the construction material on the other side of the road as the vehicle and unloaded material obstructed the exit.

But instead of removing the vehicle, they got into an argument. After the argument escalated, the group took out their guns and opened fire. Gautam Kumar's relatives reached the spot on hearing the gunshots and were also shot dead by the gang. Sanjit Kumar said that the team led by Umesh Rai fired more than 50 rounds. He named Umesh Rai, Ramesh Rai, Satish Rai and Bacha Rai of Jetuli village as accused. Gautam Kumar was hit by multiple bullets and died instantly.

After the incident, an angry mob thronged the building owned by the accused and set it on fire. Two vehicles parked in the building where the wedding hall is located were burnt. The mob also tried to set fire to the house of another accused but was stopped by the police. The enraged crowd slashed tires to prevent the fire brigade vehicles from reaching the burnt building in time. However Police and firemen entered the burning house and rescued people including women and children.

Heavy police force has been deployed in Jetuli village under Nadi police station following the incident. Police said the situation was tense but now under control. The injured were referred to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) and Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH).
