Ireland: A couple who immigrated to Ireland faced violence over the years. The latest of these happened in the past few days.

On Tuesday evening, January 10, 2023, 26-year-old Anchal Mohtra was on her way home from work on "the Luas," Metro in Ireland when she was physically and verbally abused by three girls. Various media in Ireland reported that Anchal said that the tragic incident shocked him. A Dublin woman has been left traumatized after being attacked by a group of teenage girls in the Luas.

She said: "I got on the Green Line Luaus in Sandyford and sat in one of the four seats facing each other. When I got on the seats were empty but three teen girls walked up to me and sat in the remaining seats. They were chatting to each other while eating popcorn and drinking coke. I was mostly on my phone, around five Minutes later, one of the girls suddenly kicked me." Anchal said the girl screamed me to Get Out.!!

"At first, I thought I misunderstood her, so I asked her what I told her, and she kicked me again and said, 'Get out!' I told her to F*** off and then they got really violent. Then the girl sitting next to me started hitting me with her elbow. The other two started kicking me.

Anchal said the girls threw popcorn and drinks in her hair and eyes and called her a "B****". They said the Luas were full of people but no one stood up to the teenagers except for one woman. "One woman told the girls to stop, but they yelled back at her."

Terrified, Anchal tried to move away but one of the girls stopped her and another kicked her from behind and grabbed her bag. "One of the girls ran forward to block my way. They kicked me and tried to push me out of the metro in Ireland."

Anchal continued: "It was a nightmare for me. I was paralyzed with fear. I couldn't do anything. When I said I was going to call the gardaí they said, 'You F****** B** **, call whoever you want. Nothing is going to happen.'

They knew if I called the gardaí nothing would happen to them. They knew no one was going to stop them."

I felt pain and I cried a lot," she said. Anchal, who moved to Ireland from India in 2020, said she had never experienced anything like this before." I lived in Athlone before moving to Dublin. "I never felt unsafe even though I worked night shifts," she said.

Anchal said that her husband Aditya was the victim of such a terrible attack before that. He was hospitalized in 2019:

Aditya said: "I've lived in Ireland since 2015 and it was the fourth or fifth incident in 2019. "My friend and I were walking across the Happeneny Bridge after a party when we were stopped by a group of teenagers. They took my friend's watch and tried to grab my wallet and phone." I didn't back down and got my wallet. And got my phone back from them. But in the meantime they injured me." Aditya was brutally attacked and had to go to the hospital.

Aditya, 30, sustained fatal injuries on his face. "I didn't tell my parents. I stopped making video calls with them because if they saw me like that, they would have asked me to come back. "I told myself that these things will continue until there are amendments in the law. These teenagers are very cruel. Aditya said:

Anchal and her husband Aditya started a petition demanding stricter laws against juvenile delinquency in Ireland.

Under section 52 of the Children's Act 2001, as amended by section 129 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006, children below the age of 12 cannot be prosecuted. A crime. However, there is an exception for children aged 10 or 11 for murder, manslaughter, rape or serious sexual assault. In Ireland juvenile delinquents are capable of anything they do. There should be strong law. The new incidents come as a reminder that a few days ago in Dublin, a garda was attacked and a garda car was rammed by another car.
