Shocking video has emerged of the chaotic scenes in which a garda was hit in the head by a bottle that hit a Dublin suburb like a missile on Monday.
The video shows an attack on a Garda officer in Ballyfermot, West Dublin. The officer has been admitted to the hospital with head injuries from being hit by the boat. The officer was attacked on Monday afternoon.
Gardaà were on the scene to stop the group driving dangerously in the Ballyfermot area. A group of masked youths then attacked the gardaÃ. Two Garda patrol cars were vandalized by the attackers. A number of Garda vehicles were also significantly damaged during the clashes.

Two people suspected of being behind the violence have already been arrested. Two motorbikes were seized from them. Both the arrested persons were released after a case was registered. The incident came as gardaà were preparing a police plan ahead of a funeral in the Ballyfermot area.
A video of the incident showed the garda being engulfed by a large crowd gathered around the two gardaÃ. Dozens of scramblers and motorbikes gathered in the area. A police plan is in place in the area to ensure the safety of local residents. Gardaà said the investigation was ongoing.
