Kildare: The SIPTU union has accused Go-Ahead of refusing to engage through agreed processes in negotiations over pay rises given the impact of the cost of living crisis. SITU has announced a two-day strike at private bus operator Go-Ahead Ireland over a pay dispute.
A 24-hour work stoppage will take place on March 1 and 8 at the company's depots in Ballymount, Dublin, and in Naas, Kildare, along with pickets.
"SIPTU representatives held a ballot for industrial action by our members working at Go-Ahead Ireland on December 20," said John Murphy, the union's sector organiser.
Following this vote, SITU says management has agreed to participate in discussions at the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) but not specifically on the wage issue, among other things.
The dispute has therefore been referred to the Labor Court and the company is now refusing to appear, while we understand that this is an ongoing process and are committed to positive and proactive engagement with all stakeholders,” added Go-Ahead.
